Focus on: PDR and our Relationship with Demelza

Many years ago, Phil Rummery (Managing Director of PDR) was invited to visit Demelza and see the amazing work they do for himself. He was deeply touched by the work they carry out, helping seriously ill children.

This was to be the beginning of a supportive relationship between PDR Group and Demelza. Over time, this has involved making donations to support projects and hosting several large events, including 3 frisbee tournaments from 2015, 16 and 2017 - where we raised in excess of £10000.00

One of the highlights of PDR’s calendar each year is to attend Demelza's annual Charity Golf Day. This year, it is being held on 7th August 2023 and PDR will once again be participating to help raise money for this worthwhile cause. We are hoping for a repeat performance again this year and win the tournament once again.

What is Demelza?

Demelza is a children’s charity providing hospice and respite care for children with serious and life-limiting conditions in London and the South East of England. Established in 1994, Demelza was named after Demelza Phillips, the daughter of the charities founders, who tragically passed away at the age of 24 due to a brain tumour.

The first hospice in Sittingbourne, Kent, was opened in 1998 by the Countess of Burma. Since then, the work of Demelza has grown and they now have three sites offering an array of support for families, therapies, short breaks, and end of life care.

Demelza will also be hosting a Kent Open Day on the 16th September at their Hospice in Sittingbourne.
