What to do after an Interview

WHAT TO DO AFTER AN INTERVIEW

There can be a really odd period of time between the end of your job interview and the call back to know how it’s gone, for feedback and whether you will be offered the position.

It can feel a bit like your in limbo, your not too sure what to do, where to go and what indeed comes next.

Now it’s time to take a moment, relax, take a breath and then do the following steps to help make sure you secure the job.

Understand the process and settle those nerves

When you attended the interview, you may have asked the question “What happens next?” Even if you didn’t they probably explained to you or gave you an idea of when they would update you on the outcome, maybe advised you that there are other applicants to interview and the anticipated time frame.

The recruitment process can take time and we understand that this can be incredibly frustrating. There will be other candidates that they have selected to interview after you. So understanding that silence from your interviewer doesn’t always necessarily mean bad news.

But there is good news (hoorah!) The best way to keep informed is by contacting your recruiter to nudge them for an update or to keep them in the loop with other opportunities that you may have been exploring! This way they are more likely to chase a client specifically about you and who knows it might even encourage the client to opt for you if they think that you might have another position.

Also by understanding the time frame, or if there is a need for a second or third interview, gives you more time to prepare and remember the better prepared you are the better you will perform.
